It was noisy from a thunderstorm and some rain over night. Two hiker who had set up their tent had changed their mind and come into the shelter during the night. We had to step carefully over them laying on the ground and had our breakfast outside. Evenso we were in the clouds it wasn't cold. The mountain La Rhune was not visible. On we went downhill to Sare. The trail was easy to walk and often followed gravel roads. We crossed the tracks of the cogwheel railroad running from Col de Saint Ignace up to mountain La Rhune. Along the trail we passed by many horses. And of course we met many hikers all day long. In Sare we had a second breakfast. The sun had come out and it became rather humid.
For lunch we stopped by river La Nivelle before passing through the town Ainhoa. Leaving town it was uphill until we reached the Chapel of Our Lady of Hawthorn. Here we could not find a running watersource. The fountain was not working. Also it did not look nice for setting up the tents. After a short further climb the trail follows the side of Mountain Errebi. Here we stopped for the night.
