When looking out of the window in the morning we where welcomed by snowflakes but luckily now snow on the ground. Walking out from the Agritorismo along the road we where soon joined by a dog. It followed us along the road often going left or right into the country but always coming back to us. Several kilometers later the dog was still with us. We then phoned the place from last night and advised them in English, very little Italian and some Spanish where there dog was. A short while later a car showed up and the old man from the Agritorismo collected the dog. He was very gratefull that we had advised them.
Now the road took us down into the valley towards Norcia. We came by the the dhurch ruins onf Chiesa della Madonna della Neve, Castel Santa Maria - Cascia. The church was build in 1565 and after a number of earthquakes finally destroyed by a heava quake in 1979. Some well preserved fresks are preserved under glas. Then we passed by Savelli which had plenty of standardised new houses to replace those destroyed during the big earthquakes which lasted from August until October 2016.
Prior to coming into Norcia we came by a coin laundry. This was a heaven sent place. Of course we cleaned all our clothing but the rain clothing. You got to wear something. As it was a Sunday the local supermarket we had passed by had closed to early for us to arrive in time for shopping. With all clean clothing we walked into Norcia. The hotel was located in the old town. There where still many buildings that needed repair from the earthquake. The hotel was interesting. We entered a bar and got the keys. Then we where shown to the back of the building in a sidestreet. Here we got to the 2nd. floor and ended up above the bar. The place was ok.
It's snowing. View from our room at the Agritorismo La Valle dei Bronzetti outside Civita
