After packing up I continued along the road. At Bosco di Corniglio I stopped for breakfast at a busy bar. Nearby food was sold from a truck as the place did not seem to have many shops. At Passo di Cirone at 1266m I left the province of Parma. Here the E1 crossed the road. I continued along the road which now went down again to Pontremoli. At the village of Pracchiola it had started raining again. I stopped under a carport by the road for lunch. I continued along the road in the partly heavy rain and a thunderstorm.
Finally I arrived at Pontremoli. Here I went to the tourist office to help me find a place for the night. Everything was booked out as there was a fishing tournament in town. They finally contacted the local castle. Here I was lucky and got the last available bed. I was urged to get soon there as it would close in a short time. The castle was uphill from the town center along narrow streets. Here I got a bed in a room with two beds and the keys for the castle. One bed was occupied but noone in the room. I settled in. Then I started for the main purpose of coming to town, shopping for food.
I bought food for the next three days. When coming back to the castle I had to let myself in. The castle was closed for visitors and only us staying for the night where inside. Getting to my room I found the other person had left so I had the room for myself. In town it was raining on and off. I went for dinner at a restaurant before sleeping in my quiet room.
