VIc.25    Section Petina - San Pietro al Tanaco   26 km

The day started with drizzle and the mountain tops being in the clouds. I decided against going up and into the clouds. Instead I followed the road with almost no traffic to Polla. Here I stoped around lunchtime at a supermarket and went shopping. Then I went on along small byroads passing green meadows until arriving in Sant Arsenio. Here I entered a bar and had a mug of hot green tea. I had reserved an apartment in San Pietro al Tanagro which was the next village. While drinking tea I got a message from the host asking when I was to be expected. I advised about my current location and soon went on. Just having started walking an expensive electrical Mercedes stoped and asked in Italian whether I had booked the apartment. The driver spoke Italian only. Soon it became obvious that he wanted to drive me to his place. I got a ride for the next may be 2 km in the posh car. The apartment was furnished with new appliances. It looked very nice. I had also access to the garden and the bedroom had in addition to the bathroom it's own shower. I went shopping at a local small food store and cooked dinner at the apartment.
