I started the hiking day by descending a road in Morano Colabro. Almost all houses had posted large photos from life in the 1920 years. Very interesting. Upon leaving the town I started a very slow climb to San basile. Now I had entered the Albanian part of Italy. When the Turks started occupying the Balkans christian Albanians who did not bwant to become Muslims flet to Italy. Here the community signs where in Italian and Albanian. Once passing through Saracena I stopped somewhere by the road for lunch. Soon after I had nice views of the Ionian Sea which is part of the Mediterranean Sea. Towards evening I arrived at todays destination, the community of Lungro. I had planned to spend the night at the Albanian Museum which included a B&B. It took me a while to find the place but finally arrived at it's closed door. I called the hosts number but got no reply. After waiting a while I went to the town square and inquired inside a local store how to reach the host. The shop owner made it very clear to me that in Italy you speak Italian and nothing else. Asking around at the square I was told to sit down by the fowntain and wait. The man said he would take care of getting me in contact with the host. A woman arrived after a while and drove me the short distance to the house. Besides running museum and lodging she was a choir leader and had run a rehearsal.
