In the morning if you can talk about morning with 24 hours sunshine the weather had slightly improved. As had been during the night it was dry. Also the North Cape could be seen and during the day the weather was to get even better even so the sun hardly became visible. In the beginning I had to get back to the road. I met many hikers on their way to Knivskjellodden. Around lunch time I arrived at Midnattsol Camping. There was a sign the restaurant of the camp ground would serve local foods. I did not want to pass this possibility but it turned out they only had a few sandwiches from yesterday. I took two together with hot tea. Here the North Cape road arrives at the road from Skarsvåg.
I continued along the now wider road. After a while I arrived at a parking lot on road E69. Here I talked for a while with two Spanish bicycle riders in Spanish. They had biked all the way from Spain to North Cape and planned to return home across Finland and the Baltic states. Finally I turned off along the road to Gjesvaer. At the start of the road there was a sign for winter traffic. It seems during winter the road is only cleared from snow at certain times for columns traffic. Soon I left for the only part of E1 hiking trail on Magerøy. This point was well marked. As it had become late I set up my tarp at a nameless lake for the night.
