E1 Sweden from Sälen to Storlien

IIa.5 Section Röskåsen - Guttudalskojan 40 km

Today I wanted to shop for food in the village of Flötningen. There is a supermarket adjacent to the trail. And again it became a cloudless day. After a while of hiking I arrived at Lake Busjön. This lake is fed by water coming from countless little lakes across the border in Norway. Until Flötningen the summer and winter trails are running separately. They are separate trails whenever the winter trail is too wet for hiking. Before arriving at Flötningen I saw my first rain dear.

In the village of Flötningen which is located on the main road from Idre to Norway I went to the supermarket. It turned out that the market is owned by a Germany lady. Unfortunately they had no freeze dried food. Never the less I could refilled my food bag for the hike to Grövelsjön. I also bought food for lunch which I consumed on the spot. Of course it included ice cream.

I left Flötningen on a forest road from next to the supermarket. Except for a short cross country section I walked all afternoon on forest roads. So I could make good mileage. All day long I only met two other hikers. In the evening I arrived at Guttudalskojan and I staid on my own at this shelter. This was quite a bit further than I had planned.
