This was the start of my Vasaloppet. This world famous ski run is in the summer additionally a bicycle path and a walking trail and marked accordingly. The skiing run is in the opposite direction and ends in Mora. I started in a light drizzle. The only other walker I met along the Vasaloppet I met shortly after starting. The path is very well marked. There are hardly any climbs going from Mora. Along the trail there are several huts for staying over night. They are equipped with bunks and a stove. There are several control posts for the skiers along the way. I had lunch in one of the huts. Towards evening I arrived at Axistugan were I staid over night. Quite interesting was a note inside the hut that it was to be used by hiker and cyclists only and not by people coming by car. This sign was even written in Polish.
