The weather staid fine. In the morning I had a steady climb out of the valley. At a place named Blaue Kuppe I passed by an airfield for gliders. Unfortunately there where no planes in the air. Crossing Lötzenkopf the E6 passes through a lot of nice forests. The trail was easy to hike. Nearby was the former demarkation line between West- and East-Germany. The castle Wartburg in former East Germany could barely be seen from the trail. Towards evening I arrived at Holzhausen. There is a castle hotel. They charge € 154,-- per night. Not that I wanted to stay but that was far out of my price range. I continued and finally found a spot for the night. I set up my tent and prepared dinner.
