I started on a little used paved road to get to Klein Strömkensdorf. The former East German co op for animals left their name at a grown over gate. Here the road is rather busy and I had to be careful walking on the hard shoulder. After Peplow it became quiet again. Upon crossing the creek Hellbach I returned to the "Salt Backwater" which is located behind the peninsula Wustrow. From here on I followed the dyke until arriving at the Baltic Sea resort Rerik. Following a longer lunch break I continued along the Baltic Sea coast. The marked E9 turns inland at the parking lot of Kägsdorf to lead to Kühlungsborn. However there is also a path along the coast via Bugspitze to Kühlungsborn. In the evening I went to the youth hostel in Kühlungsborn East.
