Today was a Tour de France day. The trail follows along or near the road the cyclists are taking to get up to Col du Tourmalet. At Barèges the Tour passes through the community and we stopped for a nice icecream. Once reaching the chairlift Tournaboup the trail leaves the Tour and turns off into the valley of creek Ruisseau d'Escoubous. The Jardin Botanique du Tourmalet was not much to look at. We used some shade for lunch but that was it. Further up in the valley we found a nice spot for our tents right by the creek.
