Cabanet d'Uls
Eylie 13 km
This turned out to be a very hot day. We started with a rather hard climb up where we had seen the sheep going uphill yesterday evening. Up at the pass we soon passed the shepherds and some of their flock before it was downhill again. The GR10 took us down to the lake Ètang d'Araing. Here we stoped at the Refuge and enjoyed ice cream and a drink. A bit further down we passed by the foot of the lakes dam. During the climb back out of the valley we where passed by a horse pack train. The horses where faster than we could climb. Finally we reached the pass below Pic de l'Har. Many people where resting in the sun. From here we could see the building of the former mine Bentaillou. It took us a while but then we arrived and stoped for lunch in the shade of one of the houses. After a longer break we decided to follow the old road unstead of the trail down to Eylie. Along the road which was longer than the trail we met just a couple of people which was nice not having to say frequently bonjour, bonjour. And we also got some information about the former mine. At the bottom at Eyle are further mining buildings. Here where it was even hotter we found a spot for cowboy camping.
