My room at the hostel had a separate outside entrance. Even so the hostel was well occupied by kid and youth groups I was not bothered by them at all. Breakfast was as always good and plentiful. Today's goal was hiking to Frankfurt and then taking the train going home. So I had plenty of time and took it easy. The direct ascent of mountain Großer Feldberg and at 880 m the highest elevation of this hike was blocked by logging activities. I found a slightly longer trail around it. Soon I was in the clouds. The tower at the top was visible only now and then. Then it started clearing up. At the top of the mountain everything was still closed this early. Finally the sun came through. Except of a short climb up to mountain Altkönig it was downhill only. In Oberursel, a suburb of Frankfurt, I arrived at the terminal of a subway line. I took the train to get to Frankfurt main station. I had lunch and took the fast train back to Hamburg.
