VIa.4    Section Tornavento - Casterno   36 km

Before coming back to the E1 we had a great view of the Alps with white snow capped peaks. It started sunny and it staid sunny all day long. The trail followed either the River Ticino or a near by canal. Again we encountered many cyclists. At one of the many benches we stopped for lunch. Later we had to wade through a creek thereby getting wet feet. Before arriving at Ponte di Boffalora we followed the river instead of the marked E1. At the river was a restaurant which did not allow entering its ground and their bridge across the creek was closed. Not wanting to go back for a bit we waded through the creek. Later the forest was quite large and instead of continuing along E1 to the town of Casterno we staid in the forest and found a nice place to cowboy camp.
