VIb.12    Section La Serra - Bocca Serriola   25km

We woke up in the clouds with slight rain. Had breakfast in our tents, packed up wearing our rain gear and moved on. The trail follows the crest with trees left and right and not much to see in the clouds. Later in the morning the clouds lifted and we even got some sunshine. At lunch time we arrived at Bocca Serriola. Here was an open bar. We went inside for a well deserved meal and some warmth.

The trail continued along the crest along easy to hike dirt roads. Now we where caught by a thunderstorm with rain. Once it had passed by the sun came out again. Here we met three German pilgrims hiking from lodging to lodging. Towards evening we arrived at the road Strada Provinciale 200 di Parnacciano. 500m on was the Agriturismo la Casciara. It was closed and no one there. But a phone number was displaid. I rang the number and we started an interesting conversation. Hardly any English and very broken Italian and some Spanish finally did the trick. We where asked to wait and they would come up to provide accomodation.

Maybe 30 minutes had passed when a car stopped at the road. I talked to the driver who spoke some English. He said the owners live down in the valley in San Giustino and it would take them easily half an hour. And then they arrived. We got an appartment with a well appointed kitchen plus supplies we where told to use. This we did and had spagetty with tomato souce for dinner. And of course nice hot showers.
