E1 Italy Cittaducale - Fortino

VIc.2    Section Santa Lucia de Fiagmenano - Corvaro   24 km

While having breakfast in my tent in the morning a farmer from a field nearby examined my. He seems to have never seen a tent before. The day turned out to be more sunny and a lot warmer without any rain. The previous days had been a lot colder. All mountain tops where snow covered. A few days before it had snowed. As I learned this was the first snow this winter evenso it was late April by now. In the distance I saw a deer. Exiting Castelmenardo the trail follows for a while along very steep hillsides. Of course it was marked in rad on my map. Still it was easy going. I had to cross a creek too. In Corvaro at the central market I stopped at a bar for lunch. I had warm grilled sandwiches. Here I met many cyclists. Sitting in the sun it had become quite warm by now. In a subburb at the nearby motorway I stopped early at Hotel La Duchessa. The shower was quite refreshing. For dinner I had my first piza during this years hike.
