Following another quiet night in my tent I started along an all day easy to hike trail. Shortly before arriving at Lake Laghicello I met a team of trail mainteners. They repaired wooden trail guards. The teamleader spoke good German. We talked for a while before I moved on the lake. Here I stopped for my lunch break sitting at a picnic table. I had selected one in the sun as it was a bit cool in the shade. During my break I was passed by two cars and two cyclists. Moving on I was on my own again. At Cozzo Cervello I had very nice views of the Mediterranean Sea. The mountain range descents very steaply to the sea. The beaches where about 1300 m below but seemed to be very near. From here I could see the Vulcano Stromboli as well es Sicily. Only a few weeks after I returned home Stromboli was active again. Later I passed by a flock of goats and a number of barking guard dogs. At Serra Crociata I stopped for the night and set up my tent.
