My re-supply source the local Matreken supermarket only opens at 10:00 am. Therefore I could sleep in and have an extensive breakfast at the restaurant. Fortunately the store is in the direction of my travel. It carries food but mostly not really items required for hiking. It could not be helped as this was my food source and no options nearby. Upon shopping I continued walking the road for a while before turning off to follow the E1 south. While on the road I had a short shower.

The trail was well marked from the beginning on. I had to cross many wet stretches while passing through the birch forests. Here I met two German hikers, the only people along the trail for the day. We exchanged information about the trail ahead of each of us. All day long there was hardly any sunshine. Finally I came up onto the open fjell. As the store only opened so late I did not hike enough miles for the day. I set my tarp up for the night near a snow field. Just before falling asleep another shower came down.
