I was in no hurry in the morning as I only had to hike a few kilometres until Kilpisjärvi. At Lake Cáhkáljávri I reached a gravel road which led me after a short time to the paved main road. Soon I saw the supermarket and the hotel. I got a room and immediately went under the shower. Then I went for the laundry area to wash everything but my down jacket and pants which I was wearing. While the machine was running I went to the supermarket on the other side of the road. Being in Finland I had to pay in Euro and no more in Crowns. The store has a good selection. I got everything needed for the next section to Abisko. Upon returning back at the hotel the clothes where washed and I could hang it up in the drying room. There is no electrical dryer but a room with a hot electrical stove.
For lunch I had bought a pizza. My room had a microwave oven so that I could heat the frozen food. In the afternoon I wanted to go the sauna. When passing by the reception I luckily noticed that in Finland is Eastern European Time which is one hour ahead of Norway and Sweden. Upon completing the sauna I picked up my dry laundry. I packed up my back pack as far as possible before retiring early for the night.
