Today I had plenty of time. It was a road walk to the ferry port. And my slot was in later afternoon. I had a good breakfast at the hotel before starting out. The boat was to take me across Lake Namsvatnet to the entrance of Børgefjell National Park. To get to the ferry port I had another road walk ahead. Again there was very little traffic on the road. I crossed Lake Vektaren on a dam and than Skanalifjellet. I arrived at the port quite some time before my ferry run was due. This port was full of parked cars and motorboats in the water. This is the southern entry port for Børgefjell National Park as well as the number of vacation homes along the shores of Lake Namvasnet. I could see several heavy showers across the lake. Luckily only a short sprinkle came down at the port.
Finally it was my turn together with six other passengers. It was a pleasant tour across the lake. Before arriving at the destination the waterfall Storfoss could be seen. When I got off the boat the passengers for the return trip where already waiting. I passed by the Viermahytta and crossed River Virmaelva to start the hike. There was no trail. I had to follow the river upstream. When reaching River Sapmanelva I had to get out off my boots for the first time. This river empties into the main river Virmaelva and was too deep to cross while keeping dry boots. I put on my Crocks and walked slowly through the strong and deep current. Soon after I decided to stay for the night and set up my tarp. I had to get back to the river to get water for dinner and tomorrows breakfast.
