A dry tarp in the morning and no rain today was nice. Instead I had strong winds most of the day. At first I continued along the fence for a few kilometres. Instead of rocky it was more and more forested but of course no trail. This meant I had slow walking until I reached the point where I had to leave the fence and turn 90° towards the valley. Now I had to cross long wet meadows and bogs to get to the Farm Storvollen. There was partly a track made by a 4wheel drive but often under water. A few fishermen came walking uphill in the opposite direction. At the farm they don't like hikers. The path was blocked and I had to hike a diversion around the farm.
From here it was a gravel road until leaving it again for Lake Daningen. Up to the high point there was a well maintained trail. It leads to the lake where fisher men rent cabins. I met three of them and we talked a bit. Then I turned of the trail to start hiking along Nordlandsruta. This trail has sometimes a visible track but is always well marked. Now I had to look for cairns or markings on trees. Soon I arrived at one of the highlights of today. There is no bridge across Lake Daningen but instead a red plastic boat. I had to pull myself across the water on an overhead rope. This was an interesting experience. The boat clearly is much cheaper to set up and maintain then a pedestrian bridge.
On the other shore I slowly climbed up to Fisklausfjellet. I slowly climbed up to over 1,000 m elevation before starting the long climb down to Grannes. Up near the top the clouds started moving in well below the mountain tops. By the time I found a level and half ways dry spot for the night it was past 9:00 pm again. As it stays bright until such late hours it is hard to determine the time except for listening to my stomach or checking my watch.
