The day before I flew from Hamburg via Copenhagen to Oslo. At Oslo airport I took the train to Tynset. Soon I had found my hotel in this small town. For cooking I bougth denatured alcohol and a lighter. The warm evening sun allowed for a nice outdoor pizza dinner.
Following a late breakfast at the hotel I started my hike. Passing the railway station I went through a housing area slowly climbing uphill. Past the last houses I was on my own. In late morning I left the forest behind and arrived onthe barren Grønfjellet. The trail is well marked and easy to hike. Up on the fjell I saw a single elk. After a while the trail let down from the height to Knausen which has a DNT-hut. The trail stays for a while in the valley before climbing out again on the other side. Before leaving the forest I set up my tarp for the night.
