IIa.2 Section Björnholmsstuga - Särnmanskojan 27 km

I had a quiet night as I was the only one at the shelter. Following a good breakfast I started moving on. Soon I arrived at the first bridge crossing a river. It crosses river Tangan. During this very dry summer I could have crossed the river easily on foot. In "normal" years I surely would have needed the bridge. Having reached the other side the trail followed the river Tangån for a short stretch before leaving it and going up onto Summelfjellet. This meant no trees and sunshine all day long. At Tangåstugan I came back to the river Tangån which I crossed on another bridge. Here I had my lunch. From here Kungsleden follows the river all the way to Lake Tangsjöarrta. I had the option between going next to the river through brushes or across open country across the fjell. Going along the river resulted in constant ups and downs along a well marked trail. I continued on Fulufjället to Särnmanskojan, an emergency shelter. Here I set up my tarp. During the day I saw seven other hikers but staid on my own for the night.
