Three other hikers who did arrive late last night slept like logs in the morning and missed the great morning with sunshine. Soon the path goes along a major quarry and thereafter stops at an adjacent precast concrete factory. As per map the trail passes right through the factory. After a short indecision did I walk right through the factory yard and reached a rail road crossing. From here I continued through forests with a few views until I reached Lake Stora Hornsjön. Following its shore I came to the next shelter in Stättared. Here I stopped for lunch. The further path until shortly before today's goal Äskhult was much more difficult to walk. Later I noticed that this was visible on the map. The red dots indicating the path are much closer for this section. The last bit to Äskhult passes through open fields and follows paved roads. Äskhult is a village consisting of four farms from the 17th century. This is the oldest village in Sweden. It has been turned into a nature reserve. The fields will be returned into their former state with plenty of rocks and boulders. The shelter is next to the nature reserve.
