Like once before I took the train to Lüneburg and continued by bus to Alt Garge early in the morning. The well marked trail passes mainly through beech forests high up of River Elbe. A few times I had a good view of the river. There was still an information board at view point Viehler Höhe describing details of the former East German border on the other shore. The trail passes the outskirts of Walmsburg before climbing away from River Elbe.

With a number of small climbs and descents mostly in a forest I arrived at lunch the station Leitstade. There is not much at the station except for a little covered booth and an outside picnic table. The station is along the route from Lüneburg to Dannenberg. This line still exists as it was used to transport spent atomic power plant fuel to the temporary storage side at Gorleben. North and south a company was busy with helicopters dropping chalk into the forest. Twice without take any care of me it rained chalk which I did not know it was at the time.

South of the station my GPS track was apparently old as the trail had been move. I rather followed my GPS track. Later I found a few not deleted markings. Here I came across the site where the helicopters where reloaded and here I learned it was chalk. The guy loading the copters was rather surprised seeing me. When he learned that there had been no closing signs he immediately wanted to complain with the Forest Service who is responsible for this. Until evening the trail E6 continues along various forest roads to Zernien. I only passed a few fields on paved roads. Shortly before Zernien the trail passes through a large golf course. They were playing left and right of the trail. In Zernien I had dinner before the Call Bus which I had ordered in the afternoon picked me up to take me to Dannenberg. From here I took the train home.
