Once again I had to get up very early to arrive at sun rise at Schnega. Due to railway work I had to go by ICE to Salzwedel. There I continued by bus to Schnega. I was the only passenger. When I arrived it was just about light enough to start hiking. Until lunch time it was on and off wet; not quite drizzle but defenitely not dry. In the afternoon the weather started to become better. Soon I arrived trail E6 and arrived in Bad Bodenteich which is located at canal Elbe-Seiten-Kanal. Here I had curly kale with sausage. Then I followed the canal where several motor barges passed by. Beyond Lüder I left the canal to continue along E6.
Passing by many fields and crossing through a larger forest I arrived towards evening in Hankensbüttel. The community provides a campground toilets and fresh water but for camper vans only. Tents and trailer are not allowed. Moving on I finally came after passing through Emmen into forests. Here I found a nice spot for the night. Shortly past 7 pm it had turned dark. Using my head lamp I cooked my dinner and went early into my sleeping bag for the night.
