In the evening I took the ferry across river Trave and walked three kilometres to reach the Nature Friends hostel Privall. Until reunification of Germany it had a very remote location near the inner German border. Now it can be reached by car from Mecklenburg too. In the morning there was a light drizzle welcoming me on my walk East. Immediately after entering Mecklenburg the path leaves the road to continue on the former East German patrol path made of perforated concrete slabs parallel to the coast. There are several covered picnic areas. I boiled my lunch water for my freeze dried food inside one of these. In the afternoon I arrived at Boltenhagen. Following cake and tea at the board walk I went to the camp ground. There I set up my tarp and went to the sauna.
