After crossing the river Peenestrom I walked along its eastern bank. At Karlshagen harbour the E9 turns off towards the Baltic Sea coast. I continued along the Peenestrom until arriving at Peenemünde Historical Technical Museum. This is the cradle of human space flight. I visited the museum in the former power plant. Here the developments of rockets are described as well as the horrors of Nazi Germany in Peenemünde. Outside one of the (in)famous rocket V2 as well as V1 are exhibited. Thereafter I followed the railway tracks of the Usedomer Bäderbahn. At Karlshagen station I was back on the E9. I followed it to the board walk and on along the beach. In the evening I selected a camp ground in Zempin.
