Very early in the morning I went by train and bus to Wischhafen at river Elbe. At the end I was the only one riding the bus. Following dyke and some road walking I turned off on a realy nice path alternating with sand, moor and grass at Neustadt. It ended at the church in Großenwörden. Another short stretch of road and I continued along the river Oste dyke. While having my lunch at the transporter bridge in Osten I was lucky as the bridge came across the river from the other side. During summer it operates daily; a very nice cultural memorial. I continued along the dyke until arriving in Oberndorf. Again I met plenty of sheep and had to cross many gates. Upon crossing the river in Oberndorf I returned back towards were I had come from. The turn off to the forest Wingst is well marked and follows the hard shoulder of a paved road until reaching the railway line. Parallel to the tracks I walked until reaching the railway station of Wingst. After crossing the line it was a very short walk until getting to the youth hostel.
