First thing in the morning I hiked back to E9. It follows the sea dike all the way until Delfzijl. The path can not be missed and is well marked. All day long the German coast line and the city of Emden can be seen. Today was the first day with clouds. At lunch time I arrived at Termouten and had lunch at a fish restaurant. Thereafter I continued until Delfzijl. The industrial area will be passed either on top of the dike or just behind. Only when reaching the canal entrance the dike must be left to cross the canal at a near by lock. Passing the industrial harbour I arrived at the beach. Here the E9 leaves the coast for a while and is well marked. Towards evening I came to the Delfzijl tourist information that is located in the railway station. They where very helpful finding some place for the night during off season. I selected to stay in a camping car at a not yet opened camp ground.

The sea dike passes over a former cemetary. The head stones are set at their former location.

The industrial area of Delfzijl will be passed directly at the sea dike
