Following a very quiet night at the camping ground in Delfzijl I returned into the town. E9 leaves the coast today. The well marked path changes many times the direction passing through Delfzijl and reaching the centre of Appingedam. Once I had passed through the town and arrived at its western edge open country site is reached again. The hamlet of t'Zandt is bypassed before finally arriving at Uithuizen. En route I was the only guest at a nice restaurant located right alongside the path. The E9 splits in Uithuizen in two. One path returns to and follows the coast. The other remains inland. I stopped at the railway station and returned home by train.
