Breistølbu
Bjordalsbu 13,1 km
This is a relative short section. It starts off along a gravel road before the trail leaves the road. Until arriving at Lake Starsjøen the trail is ok and not too rocky. Here is a short strange part of the trail. There is the end of a tunnel transferring water from Lake Mjaavatnet to Lake Strasjøen. The trail goes up and around the mouth of the tunnel which was still covered in snow. Signpost warn not to leave the trail as not doing so is apparently quite dangerous.
Now the trail becomes very rocky. Not much of a trail can be found. However it was still reasonably manageable to walk to Bjordalsbu. A couple of hikers where at the hut and the stove was lit warming the hut. The weather forcast for the next day was bad. It was going to freeze over night and precepitation to start latest by 10am. We all agreed to start very early. So I went to bed rather early and set my alarm for 5am.
