Early in the morning I took the local train to Buchholz. And here is were I found the first time that the trail deviates from what is described in Kompass E1 guide. The path follows the railway tracks until reaching station Sperhof. It is well marked. From here on it continuous as described. Near mountain Brunsberg (129m) did I encounter the first heath areas. With very few exceptions the path follows sandy roads. Besides heath fields the path passes through extensive forests. Shortly before arriving in Wilsede did I run into a flock of Heidschnucken (German Gray Heath) in the nature reserve Lüneburger Heide (Luneburg Heath). This is Germanys oldest nature reserve. And then I had to climb the highest mountain of this four day walk, Wilseder Berg at 169 m. All day long I had great weather.

There was supposed to be a pilgrims hostel in Wilsede. After much asking around it turned out not to be true. Well, the pilgrims guide needs to be corrected. Towards evening I arrived at a campground in Behringen.
