E1 Germany  Hamburg - Eimke

IV.4    Section Imbrock - Müden  25 km

Imbrock

Wietzendorf                11 km

Müden                       14 km

This was to be a shorter walking day today. This meant I was under no time pressure in the morning. Of course the tarp / tent was wet in and out again. I called the youth hostel in Müden and could reserve a room for the night. This section passes by large military training areas near Munster Lager. And this is where I saw a new traffic sign: no entry for tanks. Other roads were closed for civilian traffic. Soon did I cross the motorway again. It took quite a while until the traffic could not be heard any more. Instead a circling military jet was to be heard for a long time.

The seven armed guide post was reached in the afternoon. Seven roads meet at this point, a quite unusual situation. Just short of Müden I had a good view from memorial Lönsstein on mountain Wietzerberg (102 m). The annual fun fair was held in Müden. I passed by many fairground rides and food booths. The youth hostel is directly on the path at the other end of Müden.

In Tetendorf the restaurant Landhaus Eulenkrug invites for a break.

One of many military signs along E1. In this area there are major German and NATO military training areas bordering E1.

A monument for bee keepers in Wietzendorf

A traffic sign I had never seen before: No entrance for tanks.

The seven armed guidepost at a road crossing of seven roads.

One more Hermann Löns memorial. This one is located on mountain Wietzerberg outside of Müden.
