This six day hike started early in the morning with a train ride by Intercity from Hamburg to Celle. My goal was to hike to Detmold. Having started on a Sunday there was hardly any traffic nor people in Celle. Soon did I reach the outskirts of Celle. Not far out of town while walking along the canal "Alter Kanal" I saw a rare kingfisher. The blue feathers shining in sunshine was a great site. With hardly any clouds it became a nice day. I cooked my meal in the sun somewhere along the trail. In the forests I met no one except for cyclists and some dog handler. In the middle of a forest I ran into a hydrant. In case of fire, which can spread easily here, these hydrants are the only water source. At some locations beech trees had been planted amongst the pine trees. These mixed forests are far less wild fire prone. Towards evening I arrived at today's goal, the camp ground Heidesee. It turned out not yet to be opened for the 2015 season. Luckily the owner had moved into his camp ground so that I could stay for the night. Before going to bed I set in the evening sun by the lake.
