The camp ground gates were still closed in the morning. I had to wait a moment for the gates to be unlocked. Climbing over the fence did not look enticing to me. Following a paved road I returned back to E1 in Wennebostel. Finishing a further stretch of pavement I continued on forest and farm roads. As was the case every day of this hike I could see the implications of a recent hurricane. Again and again I saw blow downs. Later in the day I could hike on very nice trails. Besides footprints I saw a few bicycle tracks. Towards evening I arrived in Poggenhagen. I took the train to Neustadt am Rübenberge and continued by bus to the youth hostel in Mardorf. Unfortunately the youth hostel is not near the E1 but on the other side of lake "Steinhuder Meer". I was the only hiker staying at the hostel.

Nice frame house in Bissendorf

For once E1 is a real hiking trail and not just a forest road
