When ascending the ridge line of "Deister" Mountain I finally left the North German Plains and entered the mid range mountains (Mittelgebirge). From now on the flat country site will be no more. The ridge line trail is relatively level with a few not too steep climbs but covered in gravel or even pavement. I cooked my meal at a picnic table before leaving Deister. Having a picnic table is the advantage of a touristy area. In Bad Münder I had a piece of cake. From there I started the last three ascents of the day. I stopped at mount Basberg for the night and set up my tent. This was a rather warm day today. I made one more meal for dinner before holing up in my sleeping bag.
