Following an extensive breakfast at the hostel I hiked back to E1. This was to become a quiet and lonely hiking day. Except for two dog handlers I encountered no one. The path was well marked. Around lunch the sun started shining. There were quite a few shelters along the trail. One of them was my resting place for lunch. Towards evening just short of the deserted town of Blankenrode I found a nice place in a beech forest at about the planned location for the night.
