Last night for dinner I was the only one. For breakfast I was joined by two small groups. While still having breakfast it started drizzling. So I had to wear my rain jacket. While hiking I put on my rain chaps too. This must have been the sign for the rain to stop. The trail slowly lost elevation and it became warmer. In the afternoon the sun started shining. In Nistertal the E1 crosses a major road as well as the rail road. Near Freifelden I passed by the Westerwalder Lake Area. These lakes are all manmade. At a comfortably warm location near a lake I had a late lunch.

I made a short side trip to the town of Selters. This is where Selters Water comes from. The large bottling plant could be seen. I had my dinner at the bakery in a supermarket. Then I moved on. Past Vielbach I found a spot for the night. The no so distant Autobahn A3 could be heard.
