I took plenty of time in the morning as today was to be a rather short hiking day. At the supermarket in the town of Schluchsee I had an extensive breakfast. Then I started moving on. Until arriving at Aha at Lake Schluchsee I was on my own. Only here I started to see other hikers; and then quite a few. On the lake shore I dried my tarp in the morning sun. In enjoyed the break with a nice view across the lake. Now the path started climbing. While ascending I had nice views again and again. Arriving at Feldberghaus I ran into many people. Here they build a seven floor parking house. It even had an adapter. There is a supermarket and a big hotel with plenty of people.

Here I had reached the Westweg. It runs from Basel to Pforzheim. To get to the top of mountain Feldberg I could continue to walk or use the cable car. Of course I hiked. At first I arrived at Bismarck Tower. But this is not yet the highest point. Very nice views are from the top. Then I went to the real top at 1,493 m. Here the view was not really better but it was the top. I descended to Nature Friends hostel after a break. Two groups of school kids had just arrived. I was the only individual hiker. I got a very small room with a single bed. For dinner we had outside sausages from the grill. All day long the sun had been shining with hardly a cloud.
