I had breakfast inside together with the school groups. In the morning it was quite cool. The first part of the descent from mountain Feldberg was a real trail just like I am used to from the US and Scandinavia. Not a wide forest road or even a paved farming road. Then it started raining. In Hinterzarten I stopped for a break to dry out. During the stop the rain ended. Soon the sun started shining.
After passing through Titisee the trail continues in northerly direction. The trail is marked and maintained by the Schwarzwaldverein (Black Forest Club). It has limited ascents and is easy to walk. Also there are shelters at irregular intervals. From now on a Federal road ran parallel to the trail. It is not often visible but instead can be heard most of the time. The number of motor bikes can be a pest. Near Thuner Pass I a late lunch. Just short of Neukirch I found a nice spot for the night. I could not hear any road traffic. Dark clouds came up on the sky. I set up my tarp and a few drops occurred. Later the sun came up again.
