I was one of the first having breakfast. Soon after I started hiking. At first I followed the river and then across a ridge. There was the end of the trail Westweg. It is marked with one of the stone gates. Now I had to cross the city center. On the other side of the central railway station I searched for a supermarket. Here I was caught by a short and light shower just like later several times more. Never the less the sun came out later. Until really leaving Pforzheim I had to walk on sidewalks for some rime. At the outskirts of town I walked by a major railway construction site. And finally I crossed the motorway.
The trail continued on hard surface paths through beech forests; and again and again on paved farm roads. Here only corn was not harvested yet. Otherwise the fields where bare. In the little community of Stein I stopped for lunch. In the afternoon I crossed the small town of Bretten. Their old town had some nice frame houses. Late evening I arrived at the club house of Club Odenwald near Münzesheim. It is a bit out of town. A few club members where about to leave. I talked to them and they said it would be ok for me to set up my tarp. On my own I spent the night here.
