While we had continues rain over night we soon found out that at slightly higher elevations it had snowed. Beyond the community of Micigliano it was white from snow. We had gone all the way south to Cittaducale to avoid snow but it seemed the weather did not want us to get away. Shortly after Chiesa di San Lorenzo we arrived in the open at a high point and entered the park La Patra. We follwed the markings along a gravel road. Soon Steady's watch complained that we had left the GPS-tracks. We turned back and left the road to follow the GPS. Now the trail was a dotted red line on our maps. Soon it became more and more difficult with plenty of leafs on the ground and very steep slopes to follow the GPS and we spent several hours before we finally decided to turn back to the road. Now we followed the markings. After a while we had to leave the road and followed many markings taking us through a forest to the actual trail. Towards the end of this trail the markings did not align with GPS-track. This time we where not fooled by the old GPS-track but instead followed the markings. This trail was ok for hiking but a lot longer than the old GPS. Eventually we where taken into a valley leading to the community of Sigillo. From here we followed the road to Posta. Here we walked to Posta Agro hoping to be able to stay for the night. The door was locked and calling a number provided did not help us much. We could not communicate as they only spoke Italian. We hung around for a moment when tennents arrived. They spoke good English and called the owners on our behalf. Now we got a room and the tennents showed us in. Was nice to stay indoors in this cold weather.
