VIc.17    Section Montesarchio - Rifugio Forcetelle   20 km

Another sunny and warm day. I left Montesarchio following along E1 on a long streight road. In the beginning there was a sidewalk. Than I had to walk on the left facing traffic. Soon the city turned to farmland mostly with vines. Finally I reached San Marino Valle Cautina. Here I got some medication for my coughing. Now it was uphill. Around lunch time I arrived at Rifugio Mafariello which of course was closed. Outside was a fountain and a number of picnic tables. I had my lunch break. The trail continued uphill but now passing through forests. In the afternoon I passed by the closed Rifugio Arqua delle Vene vorbei. Towards evening I arrived the closed hut Forcetelle. Here I set up my tent. By now I was at an elevation of 1238 m. Once it turned dark a group of youth arrived from the nearby road. Well, they where youth with loud music and a lot of screeming. Luckily they only staid for a short time.
