The host had advised a caravan camper to set up camp in front of my cabin. They had arrived late at night. When I wanted to go for the toilets I could not open the door as they had been sitting on my porch and one of the chairs blocked the door. Only after using some force could I reach around the door and move the chair. They where shocked when I came out as they did not expect anyone inside. They wanted to move on but I let them stay and left in the morning well before they got up.
After crossing the river on the road and cutting through town to another road the trail started through a light forest. Soon it became wet and soggy. It staid this way for a while with plenty of mosquitoes and black flies. This made for slow progress. Then I encountered a Dutch hiker who came from the South. We talked for a while and exchanged information's about what lay ahead. Around lunch the trail went uphill and became dry but rocky. Up on treeless Mountain Goaskinvárri I found a picnic table and stopped for lunch. The way downhill continued rocky. Here I met a Sami cyclist. She had been out riding up and down the mountain. Later I followed the paved road until arriving at Madame Bongos Fjellstue. It had become a warm and sunny day. The shower was a welcome reprieve. Later I had dinner from the host. For the night he gave me an electronic anti mosquito device for my room.
