There had been a bit of rain during the night. I hurried packing up my stuff as the mosquitoes where already out early in the morning. Once I found the turn off from the road I started along the lake shore before heading away into a wet and boggy flat area. The River Cieknaljohka could be crossed on a bridge. The second River Njárgajohka had no bridge. So it was the same procedure again; getting out off my boots, into the Crocks, roll up my pants and slowly wade through the river. Upon drying up my feet it was the same but in reverse order. From the other bank the Nordkalottleden continued as a single track trail in a rather dry area with low shrubs until finally reaching the Fjell Njárgavárn.
Here up on the fjell it became rather windy blowing the black flies and mosquitoes away. From the fjell I later had a good view into the Reisaelva Valley. After making good progress it became forested again and the trail went downhill until finally reaching River Reisaelva. The way down was partly hard to hike. One trail part was well above the river along a cliff side with metal safety cables. Finally I crossed a bridge high above the water to walk up to the DNT hut Nedrefosshytta. This is the oldest hut up here in the north and was rather dark inside. But a hut is a hut and there where no mosquitoes inside.
