From here on I hiked on new trail. Two years ago I had walked up to this shelter. The trail started by passing by the former rail road station Bolna. The station building is still standing and looks rather well kept. Unfortunately no trains stop here. A steep climb led me up into Valley Bolnadalen. Soon I had left the birch forest and continued through open fjell. The trail followed the River Bolnaelva. Shortly before arriving at shelter Raudfjelldalskoia the trail passes through an arch designating the Arctic Circle. From now on I was back in the Arctic. E1 continues along the slope of Mountain Bolna high above River Bjøllåga. Getting down to the river is well marked but without any trail. Following the markings and crossing many wet meadows I got to the bridge across River Bjøllåga taking me across.
Down at the river I was back in a birch forest. Now I followed the river upstream thereby hiking again and again across wet meadows. Towards evening I arrived at the DNT-hut Krukkistua. Again on my own I spent the night at this shelter.
E1 follows the River Bolnaelva
A lot of snow in the mountains and many times across E1
Another river I had to ford through
When crossing the Arctic Circle I continued hiking in the Arctics
There where only markings but no trail across these wet meadows
