In the morning the outside thermometer showed 0.5° Celsius plus. The rain came horizontally in showers intermingled with snow flakes and hail. Also I was again and again in the clouds with zero vision. It did not help; I had to move on to get to Stugual for resupplying. To get to Kjøllihytta I had to climb still higher. The trail went up around the former mine Kjølligruva. Partly along an old gravel road and partly along a wet trail I arrived at the hut and was glad to take some cover from wind and rain. From here on it went downhill and slowly the weather improved. In the beginning no more snow and hail and the rain stopped for a while. When arriving in the first birch forests I saw a reindeer herd next to the trail. At Lake Storøvlingen there is a short but steady climb passing several summer cabins. At Lake Handtjøönna I arrived at the paved road to Stugual. Back in the rain and wind I walked along the shore of Lake Stuggusøen to my diggings for the night, the Vaektarstua Hotel. Later it dried up and I went to the nearby Stugudal Landhandel to resupply for the next section. Due to Corona the restaurant was only open for breakfast. I had to take for dinner by myself.
