I was the first to get up and made my breakfast at Fältjägarstugan. Not to wake up any one else I did not pack my back pack in the bunk room but instead in the kitchen / dining room. Soon I started hiking. In the morning the sun shone nicely again. I hiked towards Helag Glacier. This glacier explains why I met quite a few hikers. Helag is the southern most glacier in Sweden. There are several fjellstations in easy hikeable distances in this area. Towards lunch I arrived at Helags Fjellstation. I bought lunch which I prepared in the kitchen. Being a member use of the kitchen is for free. Problematic for me was that their card reader was broken and they would only accept cash without any exception. I had just about enough cash for the meal. The fjellstation consists of a number of buildings. A new sanitary building was under construction.
From here I had a good view of the glacier. It is not a big one and did not really impress me. After lunch I continued hiking as I wanted to be at Sylarna Fjellstation for the night. They were supposed to have working card readers so that I could by my dinner. The last bit before arriving there is a long climb and a steep decent. Here I could by freeze dried food at the small store and pay by card. It was very busy at the station. They have a big restaurant where meals are served. It seemed that most hikers went there. I set up my tarp near the station.
