During morning time I passed by the altar rock. It is said the the monks paused here and held prayers. This rock is about half way between the monasteries at Olshammar and Ramundeboda. The monastery at Ramundeboda was closed down during protestant reformation and only foundations remain to this date. But there is a small cafeteria. This is run by a German national. This made communication easier for me. I had a piece of cake with green tea. I moved on. Weather turned sunnier and the trail was well marked and maintained all day.

Before lunch I had a short side trip to scree field Ekåsabrenningen. A nice side trip. At the shelter Bäckelid I had lunch. As was the case for most of the shelters it was build in a nice area. There even was a nice spring near by. In nature reserve Store Rankemossen the path passes by a sizeable moor. This is where I got to see a badger. It slowly approached me und noticed me very late. Soon I came by Svartå Herregård. From this former iron works only the manor survived. This is now a conference hotel and restaurant. Towards evening arrived at the shelter Södra Holmsjön. I did not see any other walker during the whole day. Also I had an undisturbed night.

Altar rock at E1. Monks are said to have rested here during their walks.

Remains of former monastery Ramundeboda

Bergslagsleden runs together with Monksleden (The monk looked more like the reaper to me)

Svårta Herrgård at E1 was converted into a Hotel.
